SAVEM Mobile Care Centre update

SAVEM’s Disaster Ready Fund Round One project, SAVEM Mobile Care Centre (MCC), is progressing well. There will be a launch later this year or early next, and while that won’t be the end of the project, it will mean we can actively get out and about showcasing how this amazing vehicle will be deployed to help disaster affected or at-risk communities around the state. The MCC is designed to operate in all phases of EM: Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery. Thanks to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for funding, to SAFECOM for their support and to the enthusiastic build team for their knowledge, expertise and innovation – more on the team later, but special mention for their outstanding work must go to ALDOM Engineering, Muegge Mechanical, MyEnergy and Signs By Knight.  The ALDOM team, led by Yash, Kean, Filipe and Phil, with Simon Muegge who installed the complex electronics supplied by MyEnergy, have been a joy to work with. Just a word on the starburst design – inspired by the decorated Stars of Hope sent to us by the Humane Society of San Bernadino Valley during the 2019/2020 fires. (There’s a separate Stars of Hope post further down this News page). Watch this space!
