In mid October 2026, the SAVEM Coordinator gave a presentation to the California Veterinary Emergency Team (CVET) about veterinary emergency management in South Australia. The CVET team is based at the University of California (Davis) – see https://cvet.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/
This is the third year SAVEM has connected with CVET to share and compare how we operate, and how we can learn and support each other – it is a very worthwhile and engaging collaboration, and we have much in common.
We have invited CVET to present to us about their work, after the Australian 2026/2027 fire season. One day perhaps we may even share responder personnel, as do the fire services.
