SAVEM’s day three at the Deep Creek fire, and SAVEM’s field hospital is now on location. This will serve as a base for SAVEM personnel and a triage facility for animals coming off fireground in need of veterinary assessment and care. It’s early days in the SAVEM response – wildlife typically don’t emerge from places of refuge for days and weeks, sometimes months. Thankyou SA CFS for a safety escort to a task in a tricky spot today. The goodwill and eagerness of people to help each other at this incident is brilliant.
