Today the whole fireground is open to SAVEM including the Deep Creek National Park. SAVEM access to the Park is facilitated by the Rangers (thankyou) as gates have had to be locked to manage people “coming for a look”. While the public roads are open, the fireground remains a very dangerous place, with trees burning underground, trees falling, white ash, dust and particulate matter in the air, steep rough terrain etc. Please let the emergency services continue their work, and return in coming months to support this community.
