SAVEM training 2023 began with a Level 1 training day on 7 May at the Crafers Institute Hall. An enthusiastic group of new and “refreshing” volunteers who had completed their online training modules participated in an agenda of Emergency Management topics. SAVEM Level 1 builds on the online material with a strong emphasis on safety, dynamic risk assessment, chain of command and information management. Completing Level 1 allows volunteers to participate in other training throughout the year, and to be considered to join a SAVEM response. Thanks to the SAVEM Training Team and Logistics section for their hard work to deliver another successful Level 1 training day.
