In September 2024, we reported the SAVEM Emergency Management Mobile Care Centre (MCC) project was moving from “on paper” towards commencement of the build. On 2nd June 2025 the Coordinator and Logistics officer visited our coachbuilders, ALDOM, to view the MCC in the pre-paint stage. With plumbing and electronics still to be installed, the truck is very impressive. For the remainder of 2025, collaboration between coachbuilder, plumber, electrician and other supporting suppliers and trades will continue to work on the MCC, with completion “pencilled in” for October 2025.
Meanwhile, SAVEM’s Training Team are preparing to fettle and commission the MCC, and to train volunteers in the use of this resource. The MCC’s operational functionality will be in all phases of Emergency Management – Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery.
