An enthusiastic and diverse group of new volunteers completed SAVEM’s Level 1 course on Sunday 1 December. They were joined by some more experienced volunteers who seized the opportunity to come along for “refresher” training. St John’s Anglican Church Hall was successful as a new venue, suitable for a group of up to about 25 people. Now that SAVEM has an established Training Team and Training Calendar, we plan to offer more opportunities for training in 2020. However, during the height of the fire season training is rarely convened, due to the likelihood of severe fire weather and possible SAVEM Activation. The 2020 training calendar will be prepared during January and February, so please check regularly for upcoming opportunities.
