SAVEM is Activated for the River Murray Response. Preparations began on 9 November in readiness for Activation on 21 November. A highly experienced First Response Team departed for Berri on 24 November meeting very briefly at Bridgewater CFS. Our mission is to assist the Department of Environment and Water (DEW) manage wildlife impacted by flood water. DEW has set up a page for members of the public to log wildlife issues – you can find the page here. More information about river flows can be found on the sa.gov.au site. The River Murray Response is likely to extend well into December 2022 and possibly beyond as water flows into the lower Murray from Mannum to the Murray Mouth.
